Our Pastor
Pastor Robert Cox and his wife, Judy, have recently arrived this year and are excited about what a fresh start will look like. They pray for the difference it will make in the church and community. Pastor Robert is bilingual (French and English) and very musical as well. We plan to dive into fresh styles of worship and ministry. We extend an invitation to the community to come and see!

Vision statement:
To be a church where people – regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity – can discover new life in Jesus Christ, sincere brotherly love, and a place to grow and learn to live the Christian life in the power of Holy Spirit.
Church History:
C. Earl Cook arrived in Kirkland Lake in 1932 and was working at the Lakeshore Mine. At the time there was no Pentecostal Church in the area. So he and his wife placed an ad in the local newspaper. Seven people showed up for the first service. They spent several years in prayer asking the Lord to bring some Christian leaders to Kirkland Lake. Two Finnish ladies kept on working and praying after Earl Cook left Kirkland and they held services in various locations until they settled at the LaSalle Theatre. In the meantime, the Lord had spoken to John Spillenaar to go North. Since he had no vehicle, he started walking North with a dog team. He finally arrived in KL. The two Finnish ladies’ prayers were answered. In 1946, a building was purchased at 19 Kirkpatrick Street.
As the church grew, two acres of property fronting on Highway 66 was purchased on October 31, 1982. The congregation gathered together to dedicate this property to the Lord. The Kirkpartick building was sold and Trinity United Church shared facilities for approximately seven months.
On December 1, 1984, a dedication services was held at the new church and was renamed “Living Faith Assembly”.
Living Faith Assembly honours the Lord and our doors have always been open to the community and surround areas.
Point of interest: John Spillenaar married Tyyne Nykanen, one of the Finish ladies.
They had four children and one of their daughters, Grace, married Rev. Glen Adams, who was the pastor at Kirkland Lake Tabernacle on Kirkpatrick Street and of
Living Faith Assembly for 22 years.
